In your gif editor make the background color transparent.
If your editor doesn't do that try
animagic gif editor. You can get the shareware version at slaughterhouse.com
It has an annoyance screen and adds a tag frame in the unregistered version but it doesn't expire. It is cheap to buy if you like it (I did).

Oh BTW to keep the animation from jumping at the end you might play it backwards to the beginning. I know that will make the file larger. Maybe you could crop it to save download time. Anyway it would make it smoother.

I used Macromedia Flash5. I just got it two day's ago. I couldn't figure out how to make the background transparent at the time. I think I've figured it out. I'm not to artistic , so it's hard for me to come up with design's and whatnot. I'm trying to though. Think of a good logo , or animation. Something good.
