HELP!

This is a spin off of the "funiture link" thread.

I have deleted just about everything I know how to get to in my 'puters brain and I still have the "hot" word ecommerce thingie. I can't find out where it's coming from.

If nothing else, I now have a lot of free disc space.

HELP ME PLEASE!! It was furniture, now it's gambling and casino shit, who know's whats next.

I am running windows ME.

Instead of saying you have deleted just about everthing you know, how about telling us what you deleted and from where. Did you listen to Muddy? Did you do what he and I suggested? Its either a running app or a cookie, I think. Whats running in your systray? (Next to the clock, are there a bunch of icons in there?) Did you download and install anything new?

wiped out= every fuckin' cookie there was.
deleted= every temp file
unintstalled= countless programs

It's in here somewhere, I just have to find it.

And no I didn't just send them to the recycling bin, I infact deleted 'em.

The program in question causing this is called "OfferCompanion", packaged with Gator which in turn is slapped on half the fucking software available.

All you have to do to fix this one is go to your control panel, add/remove programs and get rid of Gator and OfferFucker.

Thats the crappy part. Whoevers software that is, they probably dont want you to find it.

EA seems to know this one. I'd listen to him. Keep us updated if you are so inclined. Never really heard of this and I would like to know the eventual solution.
