Lavender screen of death

Neither me or the Gateway people can figure out what's wrong here...maybe you guys can.

Every so often (especially in the mornings), just out of the blue, my entire screen will turn lavender, and will freeze up. When I go to restart, the green power light on my moniter flickers, but the moniter never goes on. Sometimes I can get it to work, but it's usually not long before I get the screen again. What's going on???

It is more than likely a problem with your video card, it has happened to me before where sometimes i would boot my computer and the monitor light would just flash. Try seeing if Gateway can get you the latest driver for your monitor, and if not, a new video card. :-)

That will be $45 for 2 minutes labor :-P

yea, chances are it's your video card, same happened to me a while back ,turns out the clumsy deliverer had dropped it, and the fucker hadnt mensioned it, they just gave me a new one, and it has been fine since then

well your problem is you own a gateway...i share the same problem...they cant tell me whats wrong with my computer..but they are always willing to send me a new hard drive...
