In London I drink lager, strong lager from the tap, Kroninburg or Holstein if they've got it. Moving north I'll try a Tetley's real ale if I can find a good Tetley's house, the sort of place where the whole pub goes silent if you order a lager. In Scotland I remember drinking a fine dark lager called McCafferties.
In Ireland I drink Guinness of course, saves on food expenses.
Moving across the water again, France, shitty old Stella Artois and Kroningburg again, better get to Belgium as quick as possible.
Ah, Belgium, start with a double, then a Trappist end up drinking beer that has been brewed six times 'Sixtus'. Moeder's Ouvereste is a fine beer from the bottle. A Belgium beer shop is for me like a toy shop for a kid.
Into Holland, Grolsch, stay away from that Heineken shit.
Germany, a warning, if you've worked up a bit of a thirst and you go into a bar and order a pils, expect to wait 5 minutes while they pour it. I purchase a bottle to pass the time. watch out for 'Hefe Weiser' it ferments in your stomach and you get continue to get drunker even after you've sopped drinking. Many fine beers in this land.
Czech beers are worth a mention too, Pilsener Urqual, and the real Budweiser. Further East is vodka country.
Going north, Denmark is Elephant Beer land, further North and it's too expensive to eat let alone drink.
Off to Asia, Singapore, Tiger beer, pretty dismal and expensive. Up to Malaysia, muslim country, not big beer drinkers, Carlberg lager the same price as Special Brew, lethal in the tropical sunshine.
Thailand, a bottle of Carlsberg is the same price as a half bottle of shitty whisky, which is once again lethal in the tropical sunshine.
Australia, Coopers Stout is a winner, Melbourne Bitter is my favorite of the commercial lagers.
New Zealand, loads of micro breweries, the government buggered up the beer scene there by raising the taxes on beer over 4 %, so you guessed almost all beers are complying.
That's it for now, I'm off to get a few cold ones in, have a nice day.
