I read in the paper the other day about a new kind of high-speed internet access that is available for those of us that live in areas where cable and dsl services aren't. This (http://www.esatinc.com/) is one of the places that provides it. I'm not spamming for them or anything...just full of technical stuff that I don't understand. http://www.thehypertribe.net/ubb/smile.gif Has anyone ever used this? Would it be good for home use (I know it's gonna be really expensive...)? How does it compare to other services? Lots of questions, I know...but I'm curious. http://www.thehypertribe.net/ubb/smile.gif

Well R_R I'm one of those people that living in a area that doesn't offer any broadband access. I got DirecPC a few months ago and it's nice but it isn't as great as I though it would be. The problem is that request information still has to be sent through a dial up IP. A short delay happens brtween the IP and the satellite itself so it's slightly lagged. Its Lightning fast for downloads though.

Sometime this month 2-way access should be avalible and that should take care of the IP-lagg problem.

It's faster than dial up but it's not cable. I like it because it's the best I can get out here in the swamps.. .
