Static in songs when logging online

If you've got a built in sound chip (like most Compaq puters and Cyrix motherboards do) and you get static and the song cuts out, try updating the driver or your OS. I know that you can get this problem under Windows 98, though I'm not sure if it was the driver or the OS upgrade that fixed it on mine.

Hahaha....I've got a Compaq, and it wasn't my decision to buy it. I've heard from a friend that Cyrix has built-in sound chips, so those motherboards might have the same problem.
