Your first ever post in a forum?

My story…..

I was dicking around with a few graphics programs, nothing was working so I decided to surf a bit.

Rotten dot, nothing happening, link, Stile, nothing new, hey what’s this ‘forum’ button? A few clicks later and there I am looking at my all time favourite photo; a young Johnny Cash giving the finger through a recording studio window.

The first time I had seen that photo was in a late 80’s or early 90’s copy of Guitar Player, I loved it so much I’d photocopied it and even made a calendar page of it.

The JC photo was closely followed by an animation of Demi giving the finger.

Straight back to the graphics program with that essential ingredient of anything webwise……content.

20 minutes later I’d made my first animation, the great Johnny Cash giving the finger cartoon style.

The next step was to work out how to post something on the web, back to the spf, and whammo in a few hours I’d not only sorted out a few graphical tools, I’d also got an animation onto the www.

That was my first ever post in a forum.

<font color=pink>My first post came out of pure evil, which is also where the name Kaye came from too. It was not too long ago...a friend of mine sort of dated the guy who owned allidiots.com. Anyway, I fucking hated him and we were bored and thought it would be sorta humourous for us to both become "Kaye" and post in his forum... hoping of course, down the line he would ask us to write for his site.

We posted twice together, then I just kept posting, since I hated him. Anyway, he did ask me to write for his site. I did, and liked it. Finally, I liked him again (as a friend only) and I did reveal my evil plot against him.

The name Kaye was the name of my boss, when I was a pharmacist assistant. I really liked her. She was a bitch. http://www.thehypertribe.net/ubb/smile.gif

That was the first time I posted in a forum, I think anyway.

my first post in a forum was probably fairly unimportant.. i have vague recollections of it being a response and not a topic (thankfully http://www.thehypertribe.net/ubb/biggrin.gif) at SPF

it was a nicer spf and i was welcomed despite my pathetic attempts to 'fit in'

i wish there was more to the story..

My first post in a forum was at the SPF. I made the newbie mistake of starting a topic. *smacks forehead* Suprisingly, I did not get flamed. It was about a year ago. Now I post on several forums (I am sure to many peoples dismay).

I cant stop. Please help me.

My first ever post on a forum was at the Metal Maniacs board, which I actually still go to (even though it sucks). I think I asked about an upcoming tour. I don't remember...it was a very long time ago.

I am a forum addict as well.

It was also the SPF that first caught my attention. I replied to a thread about video game quotes that Ritual Masturbator started. I can't remember what game it was but whatever I guessed was wrong.
Now I post on way too many forums and don't see the sunlight very often.. . addicting isn't it?? ?

Ah, my first post....

I was a we lil lad back then, just lurking about at bladeforums.com....

something had caught my eye. This guy calling himself Mad Dog had been making chain mail, for the express purpose of saving your ass in the event of a motorcycle crash. so i register, and pipe up asking if he had ever thought of makig battleaxes.

My first flame had come very quickly, and in a place that was supposed to be a supportive environ for the newbies out there.

Mr. Mad Dog proceeded to try to downplay my level of intelligence, calling me something like a fairy-Rambo loving dolt. I countered with my not so finely honed skills, and it all blew over.

A year or so later, I get a pic in my downlaofd folder from newsbin, and it has the stileproject logo on it, so I say hey, what the fuck.. might as well check it out.

I thank the Gods i did.

The rest, as they say, is history. Kinda glad in a way tho. At least I started out by shaking the boat. Something I hope to keep doing, in more ways than one.

My first post was at SPF when it slowed down after the bla bla shit...I posted a topic bitching about life or some shit like that; amazingly enough I wasn't flamed. I ended up debating with Red Seraph about the meaning of life til everybody killed my topic. DAMN ALL OF YOU TO HELL! A POX ON YOUR HOUSES, TOPIC KILLERS!!!! Where the hell did Red Seraph disappear to, anyway?
