Hey Mac, what camera are you using to take those pictures?

Once I find out, I will throw some friendly suggestions your way. Your pictures are great, I might be able to help you get a bit more detail and colour out of them.

Talk to me.

Its a borrowed camera.
I use it for QA (quality assurance)at work.

Its a SONY. Mavica. Everything as a jpeg right to a 3.5" floppy.

here's the others (http://www.thehypertribe.net/ubb/Forum4/HTML/000195.html)

I appreciate technical assistance, tho.

Well, I'm not sure what options that particular camera has but here are a couple of suggestions.

1) Try to use some "fill" flash. If you can adjust the strength of the flash, drop it to the lowest setting possible and take some shots like that. It will take care of the "softness" in your pictures, plus bring out the shadows.

2) If it has an adjustable f/stops, shutter speed and iso you should try setting the iso at 100 and, depending on if you want the backround leaves, etc. to be in focus or not, set the f/stop accordingly. If you have apertures set in the f16/f22 range you will get back round items included and in focus. If you use a wide opening f4/f5.6 you will blur out the backround and help concentrate the viewer on the subject alone. (wide=smaller number) When you close (or stop down) your aperture, you will most likely need a slower shutter speed to allow more light in. Wide opening = more light, and vice-versa. Slow Shudder speed = more light, and vice-versa.

3) Use a tripod to keep the camera motionless and if it is breezy, try to snap the pic inbetween gusts.

If your camera doesn't do all that stuff, then don't worry about it. Have a blast taking the pics you have, they look great!! http://www.thehypertribe.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

Thank for the advice.
This particular camera has no real adjustment.
And a tripod is not really an option.

The white flower was not a good shot to begin with and I have the crappiest 'puter ever. So no adjustments can be made with it. Besides it was a long walk to the bush that produces the flower...

As a matter of fact...That was the only picture I ws nopt happy with.
My wife takes reguilar photos with a canon AE-1. You should start a photo thread. maybe in Q&A.
Thanks, again http://www.thehypertribe.net/ubb/smile.gif
