Just another rant/story.
Tech Support is probably one of the worst jobs ever. You have to be "nice" to your customers. You can't tell them "No, you are stupid, it does not work that way. I will NOT just give you a static IP address if you refuse to tell me your NIC MAC address. No, I don't care how it worked on ISDN. You are not running Linux 5.0. Oh, you have an NT screen up? I am sorry, you have more problems than I can help you with."
Instead it's "Yes sir, I understand, it would be much easier that way. No, I do not completely understand what you are talking about. Yes sir, it was our mistake, I apologize. Yes sir, I will send someone out there ASAP to get it fixed for you. I am sorry you got 4 hours of sleep and had to miss the birth of your child because it would not work. You would like a credit? OK, I will see what I can do. You have a nice evening sir."
All the while he is making a triple digit income and I am still being paid a little bit per hour.
People suck, and I have to deal with it because they pay my salary.
