Roadtrip to Angel Fire, New Mexico:

The trip started innocently enough. I visited some family I don’t get to see very often. Shot the breeze with them for a while. Boring actually. Anyway.

Then I hit the road like the proverbial hitchhiker but without the diposable thumb. After Paris, Tx. There was road construction. Alot of it. I mean, the kind of road construction that you usually find in Dallas. No road signs, meandering roads, no speed limit signs, and having no idea where you are going. All in all, makes for a real stress relieving trip let me tell you.

Then after all the construction there was more construction, then fog. The kind of fog that you can be walking along and not be able to see your feet as you are stepping. I drove the entire north central and panhandle part of Texas(Wichita Falls, Texas, thru Clayton, New Mexico, basically 600 miles worth) in this fog. Doing 45 or more not out of choice mind you, but out of self-preservation from the 18-wheelers doing much more. Seeing nothing but fog then all of a sudden there are some headlights attached to a very large vehicle and squealing sounds coming from behind does in fact convince you to drive a bit faster.

Other than that, the trip up here was rather uneventful.

Though I do have to say, the view up here is wonderful. Oh, my room:
Employee housing is a 2 bedroom condo- the complex used to be the original resort itself, so other than the errant fixing that needs to be done, some rather nice rooms. And BIG! Huge living room, rather large bedroom with 2 queen size beds(lots of room for minage’e’twas(sp?) hehehe, no microwave or beautiful and buxom housekeepers though, I am gonna have to gripe at someone about that.

Oh well, nothing like some adversity to make an adventure worthwhile.

Oh, almost forgot, just past ???, about 200 miles from Amarillo, I was at a rest area to stretch my legs and check the map. A truck driver came out and struck up a conversation. To sum it up: he asked if I wanted some speed. I said nope. He then tried to get me to follow him to Childress, Texas to have a threesome with a girlfriend of his. I said nope. Then I left.

Such is life... hehe... more to come.

*I've* never been invited to have a threesome with a trucker and his wife - what am I doing wrong?
