"We few, we happy few, we band of brothers.
For he today that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition.
And gentlemen in England now abed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not
here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day."

My grandfather was a Russian Para-ski-trooper. That always impressed me. Then he changed sides and fought for the Germans because he hated the communists. He wasn't proud of that so we're not sure, but it looks like he was "invited" into the Waffen SS in 1945. Of course, refusal would have meant death, but understandably it wasn't something he was proud of.

Also, he was in Dresden when it was bombed.

all that my family has from the wars is the letter my grandfather sent home to my grandmother stating that he was on his way home.

its a single paragraph, and the most heartwarming thing ive read.

Just because some of us can read and write and do a little math, that doesn't mean we deserve to conquer the Universe.

[/quote]If my father hadn't survived WWII, you wouldn't be reading these words.

On his behalf, I'm authorized to make the following statement:

"You're welcome."

Make the lives of those whom have died to defend our freedom worth the cost. Realize your dreams.

My dad once told me that he didn't ever want me to experience what he went through. I carry that wish to my own children and to you.

Long Live those who must fight for peace.
