Why I hate elections

At first it was alright. Not too many adds, and they were just about getting the policy out about the two parties on their stances on different issues.

Two weeks or so from election, the knives come out. Kim Beazley is accused of being a flip flop over issues 'would you like the country being run like THAT?'

John Howard is being accused of revealing his secret agenda "Peter Costello came out and said he wanted a GST on everything. That means meat, fresh food, etc. A vote for Labor means a rollback on the GST"

What bullshit. Scare tactics never worked on me. Unfortunately they are rather effective. Whose is the scariest? Who can promise the most from an election? Our surplus budget is being raped by those dickheads trying to be reelected. Fuckers.

Yes. I'm voting Labor. Howard is just too much of a... geek. Plus his whole "return australia to the fifties" Grand Vision irks me.

The campaign ads are, I must agree, deeply, deeply annoying.

But I would also suggest that in these dark economic times the necessity of a surplus is not as great as it was.

I just wish howard hadn't pissed it all away on useless crap.

And I wish Beazley had the guts to repeal the idiotic private health care rebate and use the money more effectively, i.e. putting it into the public system.

But I live in a blue-ribbon labor seat so my vote for the House of Representatives will be meaningless and since I'm a New South Welshman my vote's effect on the Senate will be minimal.


In the end, i guess i just really hate howard.

Those fucking ads! I was sitting there watching them all last week going 'Who the fuck am I going to vote for? They both suck ass.' None of them seem to know exactly what to do..I dont think either of them are knowledgable enough to do it. Stupid fucks..stupid fucking ads..god DAMN.

BUT I got a letter from the AEC the other day saying I didnt have to vote this year cause I didnt register in time *OOPS* http://www.thehypertribe.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

Showed a guys face who's running against bloomberg. It was probably said after he said something along the lines of "I hope that" but that humbling part is left out.

and giulliani did a lot of good. he cleaned up the city, and crime is way down. he did a good job in general. everyone says that if 911 didnt happen, people wouldnt have thought he did well... thats just not true.
