"We will make no distinction between the terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbor them." - President George Bush.

I can't say I much liked Bush before but that statement has made me rethink my opinions of him.

I know that I do not pay attention to news and world affairs. period. As I have gotten older the news has interested me more and more. but i doubt i will ever truely 'love' it the way some ppl do. Events such as the ones experienced in the last 24-48 hours do make me sit up and take notice.

I also know many of you feel that as a country we had this coming. Maybe we did, maybe we didn't, as i said i dont pay much attention.

But Bush's determined statement that not only will the terrorists be found and dealt with but whatever country and/or group which is harboring them as well.

I think this is exactly the type of action that needed to be taken. He made it clear and calm statement that thorough investigation would be conducted .. which in my mind means he wont be making any rash actions, but at the same time very little mercy would be given to those responsible or anyone protecting them.

And honestly i think thats exactly what we all need. wether the united state as a country deserved it is irrevelent. attacking innocent citizens in order to make a political statement is wrong and cowardly. and those responsible should be found and punished accordingly (death if you ask me). but i no means support a rash attack of groups and cultures as a whole without any solid proof.

never thought i'd say this but im impressed with bush's actions in this time of great tragety.

1. That means innocent people will get hurt.
2. Probably wasn't his decision, nor are they probably his words.

<FONT COLOR="purple">all too true...and they will be hurt without discretion.

this plan of action will inevitably lead to greater (hardly imaginable) repurcussions.

I liked gov. Bush.

I have been very cautious about pres. Bush.

Now, its probably me, but I am more disappointed in him as we go.

I like many of the things he is un-doing.

I can't say that I'm too thrilled about most of what he is doing.

But his speech last night didn't give me anything that I hadn't already heard or couldn't have gotten better on any Talk show.

I think he had an opertunity to create a sense of unity in our country and a sense of dedication to a system of global policy.

Instead he asked me to hope things get better and promised me a sacrificial lamb.

My Dad stood in front of a promotion board in 1975 to get his E5 rank and was asked what he thought NATO should do about the PLO.

He said
"Recognize them and let them form a gov't, and a heirarchy of power."

Would we be running around looking for Bin Laden right now if Palestine had a unified nation?

Would we be making empty threats to a group of Global Guerilla's who are financed and encouraged by the people we play "trade embargo" with?

They wait till there money is threatened then they stir up the shit

If you are afraid or concerned about this stuff you might want to ask some questions. (http://www.thehypertribe.net/ubb/Forum6/HTML/000076.html)
