It is difficult sometimes to be patriotic and stand behind what some of the things America does as a nation eg, World Cop, Influence pedaling, Embargos etc...

I am a patriot and try to focus what America is, what can be. Patriotism is a good thing.

No, I don't find it odd, but I find it beyond outlandish that someone with that kind of intellect is allowed to vote.

Let's see, using your reasoning, we can extend it to the vote for which language to use in the USA way back in the 18th century. English won by, you guessed it, one vote! And since German came in second, maybe you want to make the case that Germany is in fact Tennessee, or vice versa?
