View Full Version : How far would you go?
<FONT COLOR="Yellow">
My mail box is about 75 yards from my front door. I normally wlk out to it and get the mail. I rarely ever pickup the mail while I'm pulling in or out in the car.
During my normal fishing trip I walk well over a mile.
At work its over 200 yards from one shop to the other, I might make that round trip 3 or four times a day.
But if I open a cabinet in my kitchen and can't find what I'm looking for....
"Darling, where's the strainer?"
No towel by the shower? I walk around until I'm dry.
I will walk around the globe to find something I'm looking for.
But I refuse to waste one minute searching for things that should be there.

I pace back and forth through the house looking in the same places until someone asks me what I am looking for. I then enlist the wife kids and dogs in a massive search party to locate the item. Once the item is found I settle down and life resumes.

If I lose something, I waste all my time looking in the really obscure areas, and the object is always right in front of my face.
I'm also the kind of person that will spend 15 minutes looking for the remote than spend three seconds to get up and turn the tv on.

How much time do you spend looking for the remote control when you could just walk overa nd hit the switch on the T.V.?

For years (as a fully single man) I had the perfect system...(it's 'round here somewhere.) My coffee table was a mound of everything, but if you gave me a minute, I could find any thing you asked for.
Then "she" came into my life, Miss. Get Organized. Yeah things are a lot neater, but most of the time I can't find a goddamn thing. My system was better, it just didn't look as pretty. http://www.thehypertribe.net/ubb/rolleyes.gif

Obviously, I'm not too neat because just this week I lost the clip to my cell phone.
I looked for 3 days in my spare time, still no phone clip. I finally stopped looking for it Friday night and just said "fuck it, if I find it great if I don't I'll get another one"
Anywho, we get back Sunday night and low and behold I found my phone clip. It was on the strap of my laptop case which I use every day. I guess its like Mud said, stop looking for it and you'll find it.

IF I loose something, I just ask my 3 year old where he put it, and generally it is returned very quickly.
