if I had the words or actions past to argue you this, I would. but I cant in good consciense.. I'd be a liar if I did. Thing is tho, I suffer from the debilitating thought that I alone CANNOT make a difference in how things run, unless I were on the inside of it all. And were THAT to happen, I'd be onr of THEM.

Good thoughts, solid points all. But I still remain unchanged in my sad perspective on the state of things.

RESISTING TYRANNICAL GOVERNMENT (It's a dirty job---but somebody's gotta do it)

"Why don't we all strap bombs to our chests and ride our bikes to the next G-7 picnic? It seems easier with every clock tick. But who's will would that represent? Mine? Yours? The rank-and-file's? Or better yet: the Government's? But I don't want to catalyze or synthesize the second Final Solution. I don't want to be the Steve Smith of the Revolution. Do you see the analogy? We're the Oilers. The World bank-The Flames! And just two minutes remain in the 7th game of this best of 7 series! Yeah, Jesus saves, Gretsky scores! The workers slave. The rich get more. One wrong move and we risk the cup. So play the man, not the puck. Why don't we plant a mechanic virus and erase the memory of the machines that maintain this capitalist dynasty? And yes, I recognize the irony that the very system I oppose affords me the luxury of biting the hand that feeds. But that's exactly why priviledged fucks like me should feel obliged to whine and kick and scream-- until everyone has everything they need"

I agree, the united states is shit, but here's why:

Freedom is a construct of the mind, and your expression is limited only by your perceptions.

The great error that western thought and philosophy has presupposed is that the external world is superior to the internal, mental world. However, both exist, and to forsake the freedom of the mind by spending your life fighting for the freedom of your arms and legs is to sacrifice your only cognitive sense in exchange for the inert bodily flesh.

Learn a means of expressing yourself and your mind, if the government infringes than try something else. If you can't get it up for any of the millions of forms of expression existing in the universe, than either kill yourself or pass mucho legislation for radical and unconventional change.

I'm not doubting your freedom RW, this is a friendly spat and I thought that I would bring myself here rather than destroy that other thread with us.

Anyway,

You say mine a lot:

Define what you consider to be yours. What gives you the "right" to these things?

I agree. While I dont live in the U.S., Australia lives under the same sort of standard, without the same coverage from a consitution, but then again, we never needed the protection, cause the only enemies are ourselves, sometimes. While i think that a tyranny goes a little too far, it is a system which sucks people in to protect the system, self amalgamating and protecting, and to do so it set up systems to protect itself, government, the supreme court, etc. And most of the time that is not good. Because the people who created America mad ethe constitution to make a country that was the dream, freedom and protection at the same time. But politicians are more shortsighted. What is good for them HAS to be good for the country. And this is short term gain for long term loss. Not a good trade off. Esp when the short term good mostly goes to the gov't, or to the people so they can win votes. It is scary. But it is the way it is. I dont know a way to change it. Popular revolution, but most people are apathetic. The system creates that too. SO, I challenge anyone here, esp. you Rogue, to think of a way to fix the system or create a new one which would fit in your ideals. Preferably not civil war style revolution (splt the country into two or more factions, and blood stains the fields until the dirt turns red, etc). BTW, if anyone has already asked this, sorry,I just got invited to join, and cant be bothered reading all the BS.

RW, who made all of this stuff "yours"? Humans or god?

I suppose that is my question.

We were all created equal. When some fucking career politician tells me I shouldn't do this or that, yet still does it him/herself...does that sound very equal? I'm sick and tired of those with more influence kicking us around for their own personal benefit. WE put them in office. WE have the power to take them out. In this fucking circus of an election, we could all have simply not voted. Imagine that. They're all geared up to get power, and we FUCK THEM OVER. Instead, we had people voting for a dead senator, people fucking voting for god knows who, and in the end...it worked out the same fucking way as it had in the past. Lesser evil. The evil got power, and the evil is a fucking IDIOT. Look at Bush's goddamned record. He can't even run his own fucking state, let alone a country. You could see that becoming a President was just a childish need for power. You could see it in his eyes. The motherfucker stood up there and damned near smirked at us, cause we let it happen.

I read it immediately after I was directed there but I didn't have anything intelligent to say at the time.

Today is different. I'm fully primed and ready for to post the response I had intended.

Ahem...

Ow! That's gonna leave a mark!
