Ummm, not sure of the oil supply down under, nor am I sure as to how much of your own food you guys produce. But if we get a glowy, you people are fucked as well. This is not a comforting thought.

THe fact the there is enough shit to blow the world to hell six times over just floating about out there, makes me more than just a bit quesy. Even worse is the fact that I cannot directly do anything to change this.

Hello, I am new at this so I hope this type of reply is accptable but...

The U.S. made their bed now they'll have to lie in it. The arms race between the U.S.S.R and the U.S. was caused by the U.S.S.R absorbing small neighboring countries that weren't well off. Which threatened the U.S. as an entity so they built defenses which threatened the U.S.S.R as an entity which scared the U.S. blah blah blah. If America had stopped for a moment and breathed they would see that the Russians weren't out to conquer the world they were just doing standard Communist practises.

Those practises being to find a population in econmoical disaster, where the government failed. Offer the people this alternative solution which they will accept with open arms (Communism can only take effect in the beginning if the propaganda does it job properly.) Absorb the country, redistribute the resources across the whole collective, of course you hold onto the newly aquired country with your army cause if they leave the entire "motherland" suffers. Once you run out of countries where the propaganda can sway the masses you no longer advance on them. (The fact that this has been figured out is one of the main reasons why Japan as a country has a marginal fear of being absorbed by China their too well off.)

If this had been realized by the Americans earlier the Weapons Race wouldn't have happened so there wouldn't be all of these nukes floating around now. (Not to mention Russian wouldn't be as poor as it is now.)

(I hope this is as coeherent as I think it sounds, never usually up this early in the morning.)

We have plenty of oil in the timor strait and elsewhere, and our farmers are world's best practice, meaning we produce many times over what we consume. hence our intense agitation for trade liberalization.

But we're not talking obliteration here, just some suitcase bomb taking out manhattan or something.

That'd be a few hours entertainment on CNN. I say, bring it on.
