Why does it have to be filled with death, scandals, abuse, stealing, hate, anger, etc? I'm tired of it. The news is supposed to be a service to the people. A need to know kind of deal. Why can't they report on something happy? Good? Someone helping someone out instead of kicking their ass?
I hate the media, and feel they are all moralless zombies just waiting to die.
/sigh

In the 80's the news slipped into entertainment. When Walter Cronkite went off air so did the news.
Mark my words, the news will look like Bay Watch in 5 years. "Like....Oh mY GOd! Did you hear about Brad Pit's NEw TATtoo?". If you are looking for news unplug the TV and get online and DIG!

Woof.
If it's so sick, why are you laughing?

death, scandals, abuse, stealing, hate, and anger, are what people want to see. And there is plenty of it all over the place. So maybe, instead of digging for something good, they settle for what's easiest, what people want, and leave it at that.
I have to say though, living here in the fucking buckle of the bible belt. Our local news shows are for the most part equal on presenting both good and bad things. I cant say I can give an accurate reason, since I dont see as much (unless I watch dallas' news stations.....)

I hate to sound like a broken record here, but the media generally censors anything that makes it look like anything is going on good in the world. You probably have in your area fifty or so charities and outreach programs, but they are displaced by the one murder that occurred. And for some reason, people just accept this...
"It's that way because people want it."
"Do you?"
"Well, no, but I'm nothing..."

I was just talking about this the other night. It is rather upsetting to see this on the news all the time, but thats just how the world is. I cant remember watching the news and not hearing a depressing story.

So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.
