I don't know what it is that drives people to keep on living. In a world full of shit and despair people still have something that drives them to stay alive until that one coincidental moment when they die. Don't get me started on suicide.
I've been participating in a filmmaking workshop and there's a particular uneducated black, African-American or brown skinned (however you want to say it). old women in my class. Ancient history is a passion of hers. When she sees art galleries of ancient things it gets her blood boiling. I can understand it and I can relate to it, but you'll never see me get up in arms over looking at something old unless it was presented to me in documented style television show or movie.
Well crafted films get me going. Being a part of the creation also keeps me moving in a world based around money. I don't understand how people can get paid doing this but I'm glad because it's the only thing I can enjoy getting paid to do. It's kind of depressing knowing that I might not be able to recreate the cinematic thrill Jaws left in the history of filmmaking but I strive for it. But it's the same as a biologist knowing that he or she might not cure a murdering virus, or an astronomer might never make it into outer-space. It could be something simple, easy and unexpected as a child (no offense), which is one of the most difficult things to do, and one of the easiest things to let down. Atleast with careers and hobbies they can be put on hold.
Life cannot be put on hold.
[edit: haha. I posted this while I was really exhausted from work and I'm noticing too many errors in my communicating. They have been updated.]
