I suppose by chips you mean french fries or country fries. Black pudding sounds gross. Leave off the beans and add biscuits and gravy and I'll stop by.

Black pudding is Irish actually, sausage made from blood.

Bubble, as in, 'Got any bubble?', is a fry-up of mashed potato and anything else that was left on the plates of the customers who ate a full english dinner the night before, cabbage etc.
Double bubble means a double helping.
Edit; someone put a weird photo in my sig when I wasn't looking.

double bacon, double sausage, double fried egg, 2 fried slice, beans, mushrooms, bubble, mug o tea. £3.50
bubble = bubble & squeak traditional english thing, made up of leftover mashed potato and sunday roast leftover veggies (cabbage, carrots, onions etc etc) heated up in the frying pan. delish!
english fry ups are one of the best hangover cures. although they are very very unhealthy!!! i personally love fried egg and bubble. mmmm runny yolk and mashed potato! or scrambled eggs on toast, or egg and chips, or bacon/sausage sarnie. *droooool*

I spent many years in the UK and always found the food there lacking compared to our "American" food. That could have been my preference though.
After reading this article I wonder what they will be doing next, maybe adding arsenic to the kiddies water?
From the BBC:

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) is playing down newspaper claims that meat deemed unfit to be used in pet food could be finding its way into school dinners in Scotland.
A report in the Sunday Herald newspaper said that the FSA has admitted that substandard leftover meat or 'slurry' is being used in school meals such as sausages and chicken nuggets.
The report also says that the FSA is operating a policy of not informing parents or the public about the practice.
The food agency has denied this although it does concede that parents in Scotland would not be automatically informed if such meat was found in school canteens.
The report says unfit meat may be finding its way into school dinners
The FSA said it has no duty to inform parents if potentially dangerous meat is discovered.
It said a food hazard warning would be sent to the council which has responsibility for maintaining food standards in local schools.
But the agency said that no such warning has been issued and the it had no evidence to suggest that unfit meat was being served to Scottish school children.
Black market trade
The newspaper also claims that caterers and food distributors have admitted that they cannot guarantee that school menus will be free from genetically modified food.
It concludes that tons of poultry meat, meant for incineration or pet food processing, is being illegally sold for human consumption.
The newspaper says that the government could easily ban this practice by ordering that meat, which unfit for human consumption, is dyed.
But it says the British Poultry Meat Federation is opposed to this measure as it could cost the industry up to £20m every year.[/quote]
Remind me to stay away from the chicken nuggets next time i'm there.

Slappy, if I used only one word to describe the food in the UK I would have to say, Pasty. Pudding to Potmash, it's all the same type of gooey food over there.
Sorry.

American breakfast:
Big fluffy biscuits 3
Hot peppered gravy 1/2 cup
Crispy fried bacon 4 strips
Poached eggs 2 on corned beef hash (pan fried)
Home fried potatoes (Baked potatoes sliced and deep fried)
Good strong coffee.
Lots of salt and ground pepper and a few dots of Tobasco sauce on the eggs.
More than you can eat but pack it in and skip lunch.
The tiny glass of orange juice is just for decoration.

The portions here are pretty massive. I can barely finish the pancakes sometimes. And the coffee here is pretty good. (Starbucks)
