I miss my family :(
I haven't seen them since October when my sister renewed her wedding vows.
My dad is very sick, Mom doesn't think he'll last much longer.
He's got a severe case of diabetes and hepatitis C. He had a catscan done recently that showed 2 spots on his liver and one on his stomach. He has to go for an MRI soon. He doesn't expect to make it much longer either.
One of my sisters had a baby boy 2 weeks before Wyatt was born, and I have only seen him once when he had to come to NC for surgery.
My 16 year old sister is engaged. Yeah crazy, but apparantly she's suppose to wait until she graduates.
Ali (the youngest) is already 13 years old!!!
My brother is in college and works. He is on the dean's list and has a steady girlfriend. (first one I think)
I'm just getting really homesick lately, but gas is ridiculous for a 6 hour trip, plus motel stay, plus 6 hours back.
Needless to say I find myself alone crying thinking "I wanna go home"
This is my home now, and I love it here. But damn I just miss seeing my family.
They're all growing up so fast.

I can relate, jess. There have been times in my life when I have so desperately missed my family I came close to throwing what I had away for just a few days with them. I am glad now that I did not, but I know the feelings well.

I have nine nieces and nephews on my side of the family - in their lives I've spent maybe 4 hours in the company of all but two of them. I have been 2,500+ miles away from them for the most part, if not further.

Just last week (Friday) was the 7th memorial of my mom's (grandma Trudy's) death and for the last several years, that date goes by without a thought until days later - when I instantly remember.

I haven't been "home" since June of '99.

Several times, I have been invited to go back and maybe "just go camping Barbie" so that it's light steps -

I love Cultas Lake. (look it up)

But I just can't bring myself to go back.

I have found that after 10 years of living elsewhere, and 7 years since going back (under terrible circumstances I might add) I don't miss home.

But I can understand that you do Jess. :(

Well, I still haven't been back to WV yet. Although we are planning a trip either this month or next.
But my Mom and sister made it to NC. Her little boy had surgery 2 months ago and was having problems again. Their surgeon is in NC. The baby is going to be ok which is good.
I went to their motel today to see them. It is the first time they have seen Wyatt. Here is a picture of Wyatt meeting his cousin for the first time.
They are 2 weeks apart in age.
I am really glad to see some of my family again.
It makes me feel better, but makes me miss home even more.
I can't wait to go back to WV to see the whole bunch. :)

Well, update on my dad....
He had 4 tumors on his stomach and 1 on his liver.
The ones on his stomach are not cancer, but the 1 on his liver is cancer.
They think it may be treatable, but not sure about that.
He has hep. C and severe diabetes also.
He found all this out by going to get some life insurance and them doing blood tests. Needless to say he didn't get the life insurance.
