I'm moving again...building again that is.

When my mom died, each of us kids (5) were left with ONLY 1/5th of the estate, which consisted of ONLY the house she left. So, it was sold for a mere $99K 6 years ago. I ended up with $18,500 after dispersments, etc.
Unlike the other 4 kids who either squandered it on trips to Hawaii, Mexico and just general stuff, I used it to assume a mortgage and bought my first house.

With no credit (poor credit) this was my only option, but what a great investment it was.
It was a 1200 sq ft. house, quite skinny, on a narrow lot - but it suited me just fine.

After 1 1/2 years, I sold it making about $18,500 and built my first home. "Upgrader" it was deemed and it was 1400 sq ft with attached garage. Far cry nicer from having to run a cord out over the front yard and plugging in the block heater in the winter.

After another 1 1/2, we decided to sell that, making about $40K, and build again. It's deemed "Upgrader" again, but a far cry "up" then the first build. Still about $1400 sq ft. but built to a green space with a walkout.

Well, it's been another 1 1/2 years or so and we are on the move again.

We bought the house we are currently in for $250K.
We were approached to sell and we were offered $400K.
Moving on up. I'm so happy.

We are building a house again, but this time in the small community where I work. The house including land is only going to cost us $250 and so WE ARE GOING TO BE MORTGAGE FREE!!!

32 1/2 and MORTGAGE FREE. I'm so excited!!!

That's quite an accomplishment. Congrats!

It makes all that sucky moving from house to house worth it.

I suspect you mean $250k, not $250.
