So who else is a polka fan?

I say Elakeleiset is one of the finest polka bands ever to emerge from Finland.

Someone got the guts to try and prove me wrong on this one?

I've never compared hemorrhoids, is that a west coast thing?

West coast central california...you know Frisco, Berkley etc...

Polka music is considered a controlled substance here.....the black market is extremely small however. I hear it is quite popular in Canada.

never listened to polka much myself, but while walking through polishville in chicago almost every house had polka blaring out of the windows. made me almost want to jump in the street and start dancing.

You know, its funny you should bring this up.
I'm the only white, full time employee, here who was born in the US. All mexicans (Viva Zapata). I speak little spanish. The guys I trained to run my dept all go to the same church and they put in the Christo Tejano Musico (which is , guess what? POLKA!)
All DAY
All Night
As loud as the stereo will go
Until it distorts
(they don't sing in key anyway)
Mostly poorly recorded tapes with messed up fidelity.

So....
If you ever have a vision of theMAC switching through the radio stations and stopping at the light rock station to crank up ABBA, just now that its only to pay back those damned Mexicans.
Can you hear the drums Fernando?

BTW I dig Flamenco guitar:
Ottmar Liebert is the best in the world. He's German, I believe.

Elakeleiset are actually one of the funniest bands I've ever seen, everyone left the gig grinning from ear to ear. They take classics such as 'the Final Countdown' and polkerise it, albeit it in Finnish.

They call it 'Humpa', those with a spare couple of minutes, and Napster, should check out 'Ulan Humpa' that's their version of Black Sabbaths 'Paranoid'. They also do a mean version of 'Love will tear us apart'.

Polkacide is another helarious lot, very popular with the German punk scene, check out their 'In heaven is no beer (that's why we drink it here)'.

How do you spell helarious? My spelling is so bad I can't even find it in the dictionary.
