http://www.thehypertribe.net/forum/...=&threadid=8011

That is (was) a valid url for a thread I posted here at THT 2 years ago. It now leads nowhere.

Why?

Very good question.

Have you tried searching for keywords?

I'll look into it.

Update: Is it this one - http://www.thehypertribe.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8011?

I found it here: http://www.thehypertribe.net/forum/search.php?searchid=71&pp=25&page=3

2 years ago we ran a different version of the forum software and, possibly, even a different version of the server software

you may notice that all threads on this board regardless of forum have the same url telling your broswer where to ask for permission to see the thread and auniquire thread ID number for each one.

ever post has a uniquie post number also

if for some reason you have a link to an old thread that no longer works in your browser I recommend simply editing the thread url in your address bar at the moment

for example: this thread is at
http://thehypertribe.net/forum/showthread.php?t=10509

it's thread number is 10509

the thread you were looking for was thread number 8011

http://thehypertribe.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8011

anythread in any forum which is open to the public can be accessed this way

http://thehypertribe.net/forum/showthread.php?t=10500

is pianomahnn's "within the last year" thread in lesson

billy's last post in that thread is 112107

if you type

http://thehypertribe.net/forum/showthread.php?p=112107

it opens the thread to the page containing his post.

anyway, be at ease to know that typing in the thread number to private thread or PM won't open it unless you have forum permission to do so and that you can't edit someone else's post by typing "editpost.php?do=editpost&p="

nope, you gotta be on the inside to mess stuff up.

Thanks for the explanation. I figured they were still in there somewhere, I just couldn't find them.
