i'm going to give you all a glimpse into how my mind works:
today at work a couple of the ad girls were talking about gardening. one mentioned that she had a banana tree. they said some more stuff about trees, and when to expect them to bud out, etc.
i went into the bathroom to wash my hands and i was thinking about how nice it would be to really work on my peach tree this year. i thought about how when i was a kid we had a couple peach trees and a pear tree in my yard and there was one summer in particular that they all gave really nice fruit. my mom was big on the organics, so they weren't pesticide laden and getting a really good year had a lot to do with weather variables and luck, but it also meant that you could go pick it and eat it right off the tree.
then i thought about how nice it was to be able to wake up early in the summer and go outside to pick breakfast.
then i thought about how nice it would be to do that naked, and not have a bunch of shocked housewives and leering old men calling the cops.
then i thought about how that must have been what the garden of Eden was like.
call it gospel or mythology, it's a nice thought, no? walk around naked, pick some fruit, a veggie or two, just whenever you get hungry...
then i thought about how (if you do believe it as gospel) the human may be hardwired to desire just such a thing because of the garden. i mean, it's no latte and a muffin, but it sounds like a really nice breakfast. all nice and warm out, birdies singing, sun coming up.... just really nice and peaceful.
let's not let the southern baptists get ahold of this, though, ok?
